
In 1980, Stepping Stones opened its doors as
Northern Arizona's first shelter for women and their children.
We provide a blend of therapeutic & advocacy responses
to women and their children seeking help from
many forms of abuse, victimization and homelessness.
Stepping Stones provides:
- Free 24/7 emergency shelter
- Transitional housing
- Educational and support groups
- Job training
- 24/7 live HelpLine
- Guidance and support from specially trained advocates
- The 24/7 Helpline took almost 4,000 calls for assistance
- Over 100 women and their kids stayed in the emergency shelter
- Only 2% of the women in any of our programs report
returning to their abusive partner
- 100% of children over age 3 completed
an individualized safety plan
Step One Community Center Overview
- The Step One Center in Prescott Valley hosted more than
1,776 12-Step recovery meetings,
32 community training programs and
425 community civic or social organization functions
- The 12-Step Recovery Bookstore sold more than
6,000 12-Step recovery medallions and
3,000 books, workbooks, cards and gifts
Stepping Stones Thrift Program Overview
- The Thrift Store generated over $200,000 of
support for the residential & advocacy programs
- Nine women participated in the Employment Enhancement Opportunities Program at the Thrift Store
- Stepping Stones Thrift provided more than $38,000 of free clothing to over 1,000 area residents that were referred by social service agencies for emergency clothing needs.
